Yoga at Rē!

Yoga defines itself as a science--that is, as a practical, methodical, and systematic discipline or set of techniques that have the lofty goal of helping human beings to become aware of their deepest nature. The goal of seeking to experience this deepest potential is not part of a religious process, but an experiential science of self-study. Religion seeks to define what we believe, while a practice such as meditation combined with yoga enhances the individual religious experience within the person. Yoga does not contradict or interfere with any religion, and may be practiced by everyone, whether they regard themselves as agnostics or members of a particular faith. The word Yoga can actually be translated ‘union’, and has as its goal, the balance of the mind, body, and breath (in Sanskrit it is referred to as Triputi).

Throughout history, yoga techniques have been practiced in both the East and West, so it would be an error to consider yoga an "Eastern import." In fact, yoga, with its powerful techniques for creating a sense of inner peace, harmony, and clarity of mind, is absolutely relevant to the modern world--both East and West. Given the increasing pace and conflict present in modern life, with all its resulting stress, one could say that yoga has become an essential tool for survival, as well as for expanding the creativity and joy of our lives! Yoga also promotes increases in flexibility, strength, and balance; improves blood and lymph circulation; and facilitates the purging of toxins from the body.

Who can take a yoga class? Anyone can do yoga-no matter how young or old you are, whether you're a couch potato or a professional athlete. Size and fitness level do not matter because there are modifications for every yoga pose. The idea is to explore your limits, not strive for some pretzel-like perfection.

Yoga at Rē!

Yoga at Rē is not your typical yoga class - we limit to the number of participants to six (6) so that there is a more focused, intimate group, and so that each person can get the personal attention that they need to fully develop their yoga skills. Currently, Resorative Yoga classes are from 8:30 to 10am, every Tuesday and Thursday, but one-on-one yoga instruction is also available. Scheduling yourself for a class is as easy as clicking the 'schedule now' button at the top of the page.

What yoga can do for you:

Our Instructor:

Kelsey Hubble
Kelsey was trained in Ashtanga Yoga at the Mount Madonna Center in Watsonville, CA by Baba Hari Dass, who has taught thousands of students since 1976. Ashtanga (meaning ‘eight limbs’) is a classical and ancient form of yoga; however, Kelsey’s translation of this system is the combination of traditional ways with Western yoga. She places strong emphasis on form and technique, using yoga postures to strengthen and stretch the body, mind, and breath. She teaches a variety of methods, including restorative, flow, and advanced yoga, and believes that it is the balance of different methods that is most effective. In addition to her yoga training, Kelsey received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from Oklahoma State University.
